Huangyangjian village in Putuo district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, has witnessed significant changes over the past two decades.

This was largely due to the implementation of the Green Rural Revival Program put forward in 2003 and aimed at promoting integrated urban-rural development, advancing rural revitalization and striving for common prosperity.

Xu Jiajun, deputy Party secretary of the village, said that the village has launched campaigns to improve the living environment, treat domestic sewage and upgrade public toilet facilities.

The village has also rolled out a series of policies, including reducing and exempting rent and providing subsidies and holding fairs based on 24 solar terms and trends to attract young people to start businesses.

One of the highlights is the two-day coffee life festival in April, which attracted more than 40 coffee brands and 100,000 tourists.

The village holds a fair every half a month and is currently home to 42 businesses related to leisure, cultural and creative products, catering and culture.

The businesses have also injected new vitality into the village's related industries such as homestays and agritainments. Xu Wensu, who runs a homestay in the village, said that she can now make a living at home.

Authorities have also been exploring new means to distribute incomes among residents, and the per capita income of the residents in the village in 2022 exceeded 50,000 yuan ($6,987.07).
