A tour route in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province has been listed as a national boutique summer tourism route, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced on July 3.

Fifty-three tourism routes in the country made the list.

The Zhoushan route showcases scenic spots including Huaniao, Shengshan and Gouqi islands.

Huaniao Island

Huaniao Island in Zhoushan's Shengsi county is renowned for its stunning sea views and a lighthouse that was built in the 19th century.

The island's bioluminescent bay is also a popular attraction among tourists from all over the country from May to August.

Shengshan Island

Located in the easternmost part of China, Shengshan Island in Shengsi county is a tourism hot spot that is renowned for its stunning sea views and mouthwatering seafood.

Dubbed "the hometown of the sun", the island has a cliff that is a popular spot for taking in the sunset. The cliff is also known for its composition of strange stones.

Gouqi Island

Dubbed "the little Greece in the East", Gouqi Island in Shengsi county is renowned for its mountain and sea wonders, beaches and mussel-breeding industry.
