Zhoushan's plan to bolster its cultural and tourism industry received a pioneer award at the 7th China Cultural and Tourism Consumption Summit in Shanghai on May 30.

The plan, which was launched in May 2022, is to launch 130 cultural and tourism projects with a combined investment of 23.6 billion yuan ($3.31 billion).

Representatives of Zhoushan outlined the city's tourism industry and the plan to nearly 1,000 attendees of the event.

A man surnamed An, who has been engaged in the tourism industry for many years, said that he has missed Zhoushan's stunning sea views, delicious seafood, and aquatic sports, and he is planning to conduct a field survey in Zhoushan and invest in the city after learning more about its tourism sector.

Liu Zhaohui, founder and president of Tripvivid Group, said that the plan not only draws a blueprint for Zhoushan's tourism industry, but also establishes a platform to attract quality projects to the city.

An Hailong, deputy director of the city's bureau of culture, radio, television, tourism and sports, said that he and his team had visited some industry-leading enterprises such as Jinjiang International and Sunriver Holding Group Co to attract more projects to Zhoushan as part of efforts to spur the city's transformation into a modern maritime city.

The pioneer award is considered one of the most influential prizes in China's cultural and tourism industry.
