Thirty-two intangible cultural heritage artworks from Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province were awarded prizes at the 11th China (Zhejiang) Arts and Crafts Expo held in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, from May 12 to 14.

The artworks showcased a variety of traditional arts and crafts and intangible cultural heritage items such as lacquer art, fish printing, carved jade, sand painting, paper-cutting, embroidery, ship models, stone-carving, batik, wood-carving, resin painting, traditional Chinese button-making, multi-color hot stamp painting, colored jade carving, and carved rocks.

Among them, 13 artworks won gold, eight artworks won silver, and 11 artworks won bronze.

This achievement is largely due to the implementation of a series of measures by authorities to bolster its arts and crafts industries, including training skilled craftsmen and unveiling supporting policies to encourage them to pursue innovation.

The expo has been held annually since 2009, and more than 1,000 craftsmen from across the province attended this year's event, while more than 60,000 artworks were exhibited.
