The 6th Zhoushan fitness festival was launched in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province on May 13.

Thirty-nine sports events including soccer, basketball, volleyball, and badminton competitions are being held over the next two months, as part of the efforts to welcome the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.

Launching the mass fitness program is designed to promote the integration of fitness and health, and help residents live a fitness lifestyle, said a local official.

He added that carrying out the fitness program is also an attempt to transform Zhoushan into a modern maritime city.
