Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province will invest 15.05 billion yuan ($2.19 billion) and implement eight measures to improve its city landscapes this year, according to authorities.

Specifically, authorities will accelerate the construction of several business areas, renovate 345 old residential communities and two old factory areas, as well as launch nine residential projects and eight housing resettlement projects.

The local government is also looking to establish 28 sewage treatment facilities in its rural areas, create 25 provincial future communities featuring public facilities for governance, child care, senior care, and healthcare, as well as expedite the renovation of historical and cultural blocks.

In addition, 20 main roads will be renovated, 11 new roads will be built and six pocket parks will be added to improve the appearance of the city.
