The 3rd Zhoushan cycling tour event will kick off in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province on April 16, local media reported.

A total of 5,000 cyclists have signed up for the event, which comprises a 160-kilometer race, a 100-kilometer race, and a fun race for kids aged 5 to 10 years old.

The route, which will start and end at Zhoushan Stadium, covers some of the city's best scenic attractions like Shengjiamen Fishing Port, Daqingshan Scenic Spot, Luotang Road, Zhanmao village and Dinghai Ancient Town.

Holding the event is part of efforts by authorities to promote the integration of sports, tourism and culture, said the operator of the event.
