Twenty-five communities in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province have been included in a provincial program aimed at building future communities, the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development announced on March 29.
Future communities, which feature public facilities for governance, child care, senior care, and healthcare, are designed to improve people's well-being.
Authorities have in recent years been making efforts to build high-quality communities and renovate old residential areas in its urban and rural areas to aid its common prosperity drive.
The upgraded communities will satisfy needs for a better living environment, more convenient transportation and more cultural and nursing facilities.
The city is currently home to 43 such communities.
