Authorities of Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province announced that they will sustain efforts to improve the environment in the city's urban and rural areas at a conference on March 3.
Specifically, Dinghai district will focus on upgrading the environment of its resettlement areas. The district has already cleaned up 380 metric tons of garbage this year.
The district also uses drones to take photos of idle land at the junctions between urban and rural areas so as not to miss out hidden areas.
Authorities of Putuo district have released an action plan aimed at upgrading the appearances of its fishing villages by cleaning up idle land and improving infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Daishan county will be upgrading the infrastructure of its fishing villages and remote islands, and developing study and rural tours to improve the landscapes of its rural areas.
He Zhongwei, Party secretary of Zhoushan, said at the conference that improvements to the living environment will be crucial to enhancing the city's attractiveness and competitiveness as well as people's well-being, and are important to advancing the city's high-quality development.
