Authorities of Xiaosha subdistrict in Dinghai district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province are exploring new means of developing its Changbai Island. 

Earlier this year, authorities dispatched a delegation to Singapore to attract more investment, with the Kuok Group investing $200 million in the island's high-end marine equipment manufacturing and new energy facilities. 

The Singapore-funded projects will play a significant role in attracting more investment to the island, said a local official. 

Authorities have also been making efforts to upgrade the island's infrastructure like building greenways and parking lots as part of efforts to bolster the tourism sector. 

In addition, authorities will renovate the roller workshop built in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) to develop study tours, during which kids can learn how to fish for prawns and roll grains.
