The sand sculpture creation activity for the 24th China Zhoushan International Sand Sculpture Festival started at the Nansha Sand Beach of Zhujiajian scenic area in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province on March 14.

Themed on the Hangzhou Asian Games, the festival will showcase sand sculpture works themed on high-tech sports, humanistic sports and trendy sports.

More than 20 sculptors will craft 50 creations by the end of April.

The sculptures will be exhibited from May 2023 to April 2024, according to authorities.

A 100-square-meter camping site will also be established at the beach.
