Zhoushan's per capita disposable income up 4.9% in 2022

The per capita disposable income of residents in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, increased by 4.9 percent to 63,848 yuan ($9,458.36) in 2022, according to official data from the Zhoushan branch of the National Bureau of Statistics. 

The per capita disposable income of the city's urban residents rose 4.1 percent to 71,965 yuan, while the figure for rural residents was 45,924 yuan, up 6.9 percent. 

Wages are still the biggest source of income for residents in Zhoushan, followed by net operating income, net asset income, and net transfer income. 

The city's per capita wage income in 2022 stood at 42,225 yuan, an increase of 4.9 percent year-on-year. 

Meanwhile, the per capita operating income, net asset income, and net transfer income were 7,520 yuan, 4,730 yuan, and 9,372 yuan, up 4.5 percent, 4.9 percent, and 5.3 percent respectively. 

The per capita consumption of local residents was 39,710 yuan last year, rising by 5.7 percent year-on-year. 

Robust growth was seen in expenditures on transportation, communications, and healthcare in 2022, which expanded by 6.3 percent due to the rise in fuel prices and the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Local residents also spent more money on housing, education, culture, and entertainment, increasing by 6.1 percent. 

Spending on food, alcohol and tobacco, as well as daily necessities and services rose by 5.3 percent, while expenditure on clothing increased by 4.9 percent.
