Zhoushan's gross domestic product (GDP) was valued at 195.13 billion yuan ($28.75 billion) in 2022, up 8.5 percent year-on-year, according to statistics released by the city's bureau of statistics on Jan 20.
Last year, the output value of the city's industrial enterprises above designated size amounted to 300 billion yuan, while the added value of such enterprises expanded 21 percent year-on-year.
The city's total retail sales of social consumer goods recorded an uptick of 10.1 percent to 57.52 billion yuan in 2022.
The value of its foreign trade rose 43.6 percent year-on-year to 338.18 billion yuan, with exports expanding 49 percent to 115.55 billion yuan.
Income levels also improved. The city's overall per capita disposable income in 2022 increased by 4.9 percent to 63,848 yuan, with the per capita disposable income of urban residents rising to 71,965 yuan and that for rural residents rising to 45,924 yuan.
The city's total fiscal revenue increased by 16.6 percent year-on-year, while its general public budget revenue rose by 25.3 percent year-on-year.
