The Zhoushan bureau of culture, tourism, radio, television and sports in East China's Zhejiang province on Jan 14 launched a campaign to advance the integration of its culture and tourism industries.
The campaign will channel more resources towards building renowned brands in Zhoushan's culture and tourism sector, as well as play a critical role in attracting investment and stimulating consumption, said local authorities.
According to the authorities, the campaign involves developing a series of products featuring Zhoushan history and culture, and these products will provide better experiences to visitors in terms of catering, accommodation, touring, entertainment and shopping.
Specifically, authorities will make efforts to establish standards for the city's local delicacies, provide skills training to workers engaged in catering industry and set up presences in scenic spots and communities to improve the reputation of the delicacies.
Authorities will explore new means of homestay management and aim to build an industrial chain that covers camping, farming and study tour.
Authorities will also tap the city's unique maritime culture to develop more cultural and creative products as well as host more exhibitions to promote this culture.
In addition, authorities will take advantage of events such as the International Island Tourism Conference, the Donghai Music Festival and the Island Life Festival to accelerate the building of a pilot city for culture and tourism consumption.
The city will in the next three years roll out more than 100 special dishes and over 40 model restaurants, cultivate 100 boutique homestays, develop 100 cultural and creative products, stage 100 art performances, set up 60 cultural and tourism bazaars and hold 1000 activities.
