Twenty-two tourist attractions in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province are providing free entry to locals from Dec 1, 2022 to Feb 28, 2023, according to the authorities.
The scenic spots include some renowned places of interest such as the Putuo Mountain Scenic Attraction, the Huaniao Island Scenic Area and the Daqing Mountain Scenic Spot.
Holders of local identity cards, residence permits and temporary residence permits issued by Zhoushan public security agencies are eligible for free entry.
In addition to scenic spots, hotels, homestays, restaurants and recreational venues will also launch preferential policies for local residents.
More than 40 boutique hotels and restaurants, including the Westin Zhujiajian Resort, are offering discounts of up to 40 percent on buffet lunches and suppers.
Over 60 homestays and hotels are offering 50 percent discounts on accommodation, while recreational venues such as cinemas are also rolling out discounts.
The preferential policies are not available during weekends and official holidays.
