The deep-sea fishing industry in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province saw rapid growth in the January-November period, scoring a gross output of 608,000 metric tons with a value of 6.48 billion yuan ($930.4 million), up 22 percent and 25 percent year-on-year respectively, according to official statistics. 

Specifically, the output value of squid stood at 4.64 billion yuan, while the output value of tuna reached 853 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 33.85 percent and 48.02 percent respectively. 

The output of pelagic fishery products in Zhoushan will hit a record high this year, ranking first nationwide, said an industry insider.
