Zhoushan Weifeng New Material Co Ltd on Dec 8 signed an agreement to build a 100-million-yuan ($14.36 million) new materials manufacturing facility in Dinghai district in Zhoushan, East China’s Zhejijang province. 

The facility, which will consist of a production workshop and a research and development center, is expected to produce 10,000 metric tons of packaging film a year. 

The packaging film, which will feature high tensile strength, good tear-resistance and tightness, will be used in containerized packaging of petrochemical industry. 

A representative from Weifeng said his company decided to establish the facility in the district largely because of its business environment. 

Authorities in Dinghai district have in recent years been making efforts, including exploring new means of attracting investment and reusing idle land, to cultivate industrial clusters and build industrial chains. 

Authorities will continue efforts to provide better services so that the construction of the project can begin as soon as possible, said a local official.
