The Zhoushan bureau of culture, tourism, radio, television and sports in East China's Zhejiang province launched a winter tourism season on Nov 30, providing an array of favorable policies to locals.

The tourism season started on Dec 1 and will end on Feb 28, 2023.

During this period, local residents will be able to enjoy free entry to 40 local scenic spots, including the Putuo Mountain Scenic Attraction, the Huaniao Island Scenic Area and the Daqing Mountain Scenic Spot, according to authorities.

Holders of local identity cards, residence permits and temporary residence permits issued by Zhoushan public security agencies are eligible for the benefits.

In addition to scenic spots, hotels, homestays, restaurants and recreational venues will also launch preferential policies for local residents.

More than 40 boutique hotels and restaurants, including the Westin Zhujiajian Resort, are offering up to 40 percent discounts on buffet lunches and suppers.

Over 60 homestays and hotels are offering 50 percent discounts on accommodation, while recreational venues such as cinemas are also rolling out discounts.

The preferential policies are not available during weekends and official holidays.
