Exports in Putuo district of Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang Province were valued at 46.05 billion yuan ($6.51 billion) in the first three quarters of this year, an uptick of 65.5 percent year-on-year, according to official statistics from Zhoushan Customs.
Exports of oil products, ship maintenance business and aquatic products were among the biggest contributors to the sector's growth, up 89 percent, 21 percent and 10 percent respectively.
In the same period, exports to Africa, Latin America, countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative as well as RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) member states rose by 106 percent, 50 percent, 48 percent and 45 percent respectively.
Exports of State-owned enterprises were valued at 39.9 billion yuan in the January-September period, a year-on-year increase of 88 percent.
