Zhoushan's foreign trade up 43% in Jan-Sept

Imports and exports in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang Province, were valued at 244.71 billion yuan ($33.7 billion) in the first three quarters of this year, an uptick of 43 percent year-on-year, according to official statistics from Zhoushan Customs.

Exports were worth 86.49 billion yuan, up 52.7 percent year-on-year, while imports amounted to 158.22 billion yuan, an increase of 38.2 percent year-on-year. 

Imports of crude oil and exports of refined oil were among the biggest contributors to the sector's growth. 

In the same period, imports and exports to and from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Kuwait rose by 81.2 percent, 79.5 percent, 510 percent and 100 percent, respectively.

Imports and exports of private enterprises were valued at 166.16 billion yuan in the January-September period, a year-on-year increase of 54.6 percent. 

Imports and exports of the Zhoushan Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone were registered at 25.09 billion yuan. Specifically, imports were valued at 15.25 billion yuan while exports stood at 9.84 billion yuan.
