Zhoushan's GDP hits 134.01b yuan in Jan-Sept

Zhoushan's gross domestic product (GDP) was valued at 134.01 billion yuan ($18.54 billion) in the first nine months of this year, up 8.8 percent year-on-year, according to statistics released by the Zhoushan bureau of statistics on Nov 4. 

The added value of the city's primary, secondary, and tertiary industries was 10.67 billion yuan, 63.99 billion yuan and 59.35 billion yuan, a rise of 3.5 percent, 15.8 percent, and 3.4 percent respectively. 

Its agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery industries registered a year-on-year increase of 3.5 percent to 10.72 billion yuan during the nine-month period. 

The added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in Zhoushan expanded 23.7 percent year-on-year. 

Stable growth was seen in its service sector, which registered a year-on-year growth of 1.7 percent in added value from January to September. 

Over the same period, the city's investment in fixed assets recorded a 2.8 percent increase. 

The city's retail sales of social consumer goods recorded an uptick of 5.3 percent to 41.98 billion yuan in the January-September period.

Income levels also improved. The city's overall per capita disposable income in the first three quarters of this year increased by 5.4 percent to 49,129 yuan. The per capita disposable income of urban residents rose to 56,560 yuan, while the figure for rural residents was 33,264 yuan.
