A ship travel route in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, has been shortlisted as a boutique water tour route, according to an announcement released by the Ministry of Transport on Oct 12. 

Fifty water tour routes in the country made the list. 

The ship route features Zhoushan's maritime culture and takes travelers to the Putuo Mountain Scenic Spot, a national 5A scenic zone. 

A variety of ships, including luxury cruise ships, antique cruise ships, Tomahawk-style business yachts and sightseeing ships, will be operated on the route. 

Authorities will take a series of measures such as upgrading ship facilities, installing smart equipment on ships, rolling out new travel packages, establishing a professional service team, and improving the ships' safety management system to provide better experiences to tourists. 

Another water tour route operated by South China's Guangdong province passes through Zhoushan. The route, which starts from Shenzhen and passes Xiamen in Fujian province before arriving in Shanghai, is a cultural tour route along the coastlines of Southeast China.
