Authorities in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province held a cultural and tourism promotional event from Oct 30 to 31, during which a plan to develop tourism along its coastal lines was launched.

More than 50 customer representatives from fields including homestay, camping and study tour attended the meeting.

During the event, deals for 10 projects were inked and the construction of seven projects with a combined investment of 300 million yuan ($41.08 million) was initiated.

A series of road shows were also held to showcase the city's tourism sector, during which authorities outlined the plan to the attendees.

Han Bo, head of China Adventure Association, said Zhoushan is an ideal place to do outdoor adventure activities because of its natural resources and unique geological location. He noted that these were the reasons that drove him to build an adventure park in the city’s Putuo district.

He added that facilities for more than 60 adventure activities, including hiking, camping, fishing and sailing, will be built in the park.

Luo Meiying, director of the publicity department of Zhoushan CPC committee, noted during the road show that these projects will play a pivotal role in bolstering the city's marine tourism sector.

In addition, attendees were invited to do a field study of the city's coastlines on Oct 31.
