A tour route in Zhoushan, East China's Jiangsu province was recently listed as a national boutique rural tourism route by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
One hundred and twenty-eight rural tourism routes in the country made the list.
The Zhoushan route showcases scenic spots including the Nandong Art Valley, the Ma'ao Museum and the Cape Park.
Nandong Art Valley
Located in Zhoushan's Dinghai district, Nandong Art Valley is a fishing village with an artistic atmosphere that makes visitors feel as if they have traveled back in time. One of the highlights here is the old green steam train.
Ma'ao Museum
Situated in Ma'ao village, which is dubbed "China's first island village" and "the origin of marine civilization", the museum displays more than 500 cultural relics from the Stone Age to the present day.
The village holds a rice festival every year in October during which events such as sports and agricultural produce exhibitions are held.
Cape Park
Located in Daishan county of Zhoushan, Cape Park is a one-of-a-kind park in China. The park boasts stunning views of the coastline and is a popular destination for cycling and hiking.
Visitors can also savor local delicacies such as dried small shrimps, watermelon and orange when touring the route.
Cultural and creative products like handicrafts and fishermen's paintings are also sold here.
