Six cultural projects in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, were recently included in a provincial program for their roles in promoting international exchanges, according to an announcement released by the provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.

The six cultural projects include a cultural venue and five cultural events.

Cultural venue: Shen's courtyard

Shen's courtyard, which was built to commemorate a South Korean lady who was married to a man of Zhoushan's Putuo district in the Jin Dynasty (AD 266-420), serves as a cultural venue for strengthening Sino-Korean friendly exchanges.

Cultural events

The five cultural events include exhibitions, lectures and forums as well as cultural experiences and interactive activates.

The exhibitions display paintings of fishermen fishing and scenes from their daily lives.

The Putuo Mountain Buddha tea festivals have in recent years been held to showcase Putuo tea and its tea culture, playing a key role in advancing international exchanges.

Sanmao Culture Park, Huaniao Island International Art Festival and Shengsi county's fishermen's songs also offer provide opportunities for cultural experiences and interactions.
