Located in the easternmost part of China, Shengshan Island in Shengsi county of Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province is a tourism hot spot that is renowned for its stunning sea views and mouthwatering seafood.

Dubbed "the hometown of the sun", the island has a cliff that is a popular spot for taking in the sunset. The cliff is also known for its composition of strange stones.

Be sure to take a leisurely stroll on the cobbled paths that wind through rustic buildings, enjoy a coffee while watching the local fishermen go about their business, and savor freshly caught seafood. 

How to get there: A 3.5-hour boat ride from the Zhujiajian sub-district's Wugongzhi ferry terminal in Zhoushan (first boat at 7:45am). Tickets can be bought through the Wechat account "zsqdly" or by calling (86) 580-5057000 or (86) 580-5057001.
