The construction of Zhoushan Art Museum in Putuo district of Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, started on Oct 10.
Located within the Putuo Marine Culture Industrial Park, the Zhoushan Art Museum is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2023.
The museum will cost 49.5 million yuan ($6.85 million) to build.
There will be five exhibition halls in the museum, and the No 1, No 2 and No 3 halls will be used to display artworks. The No 4 hall will exhibit art creations that feature the local culture and history, and the No 5 hall will be equipped with high-tech devices.
The museum will also have various functional rooms with supporting facilities, including a screening room and an artist studio, as well as leisure areas and stores selling cultural and creative products.
