Authorities in Yangshan town in Shengsi county, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province have in recent years been ramping up efforts to advance common prosperity. 

For example, authorities have been leveraging the town's geological location and natural resources to boost investment in fields related to marine services, offshore wind power and shipping supplies. 

One of the achievements is the construction of a 600-million-yuan ($83.87 million) offshore wind power base where more than 10 enterprises are planning to establish factories. 

These enterprises are expected to play a critical role in promoting the town's economic growth and providing job opportunities to local residents as part of efforts to achieve common prosperity, said a local official. 

Authorities have been making efforts to advance the digitalization of the tourism industry and provide more travel packages to attract more tourists to the town, which is intended to revive the homestay sector. The homestay sector is expected to offer more job opportunities to locals, and help the community achieve common prosperity. 

In addition, authorities have established a special team to speed up the construction of a supporting infrastructure in the town to improve people's well-being. 

The town has spent more than 400,000 yuan to upgrade cable television facilities in Tanhu village, where only over 30 elderly people live.
