The 10th Asia Downstream Technology and Markets Conference was held in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province from Sept 1 to 2.
Organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, the Zhoushan area of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China, the conference aimed to explore ways of transforming the refining and chemical industry.
More than 300 participants including experts and enterprise representatives attended the conference.
He Zhongwei, Party chief of Zhoushan, said at the conference that the city is endeavoring to build a green petrochemical industrial chain to facilitate the port's transformation into a global allocation base for bulk commodities such as gas and oil products.
Li Shousheng, head of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, said new energy technology, new refining-chemical integration techniques and smart technology should be adopted to weather challenges that the refining and chemical industry faces.
Li Yunpeng, Party chief of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, noted that developing clean power such as hydrogen energy, solar power and wind power, and building a refining-chemical integration base will be the major focus of the refining and chemical industry.
A technical exchange meeting, an investment promotion meeting and three forums were held on the sidelines of the conference.
Some attendees were invited to visit the green petrochemical base on Yushan Island of Zhoushan on Sept 2.
