The Daishan sub-area of the Zhoushan area of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone in East China's Zhejiang province, has since this year been making efforts to bolster its petrochemical maintenance sector.
Authorities in Daishan have established a special team to attract major petrochemical maintenance companies, upstream and downstream enterprises, and service enterprises.
To date, the sub-area has welcomed nearly 30 petrochemical maintenance companies that hire more than 4,000 employees.
The local government is planning to build a 122-mu petrochemical maintenance industrial park, which will offer logistics and other services to petrochemical maintenance companies.
The seven new projects based in the park have started construction and are expected to generate more than 100 million yuan ($14.72 million) in annual taxes when put into operation.
Authorities have also set up service desks to provide one-stop service for enterprises and reduce approval time.
In addition, they have built a community where services such as accommodation, catering and transportation will be offered to employees of petrochemical maintenance companies.
Daishan's efforts will play an important role in building a complete oil and gas industrial chain in the free trade zone, said a local official.
