Updated : 2022-08-02 (chinadaily.com.cn)

A bunkering vessel under Sinopec Zhejiang Zhoushan Petroleum Co Ltd recently spent less than two hours refueling a Panama vessel at the Huiqun terminal in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province.

Sinopec Zhejiang Zhoushan Petroleum Co Ltd has in recent years been ramping up efforts to expand its bonded fuel oil supply business and accelerate the construction of mobile refueling stations.

The company is leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as digital technology and smart equipment to upgrade its bunkering vessels, which will not only offer refueling service but also supply daily necessities for crew, said Cheng Jing, deputy general manager of the company.

She added that the upgrading of bunkering vessels will promote the development of the marine industrial chain in the city and facilitate Zhoushan port's transformation into a global allocation base for bulk commodities.

The company provided 4.96 million metric tons of bonded fuel oil in the first half of this year, accounting for 47 percent of the national total, official statistics show.

Cheng said that the company had moved its bonded fuel oil supply business to Zhoushan in 2018 and taken a series of steps to attract more international ships to refuel at the Zhoushan port.
