A team consisting of more than 30 teachers and students from the Chinese Academy of Art (CAA) held a series of art events in Xinjian village and Xiaosha sub-district of Dinghai district in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province during the last 10 days of July.
The aim of this project was to tap the village's art resources to provide design solutions for local agricultural produce and cultural and creative products so as to aid efforts to build a more beautiful countryside.
The team took advantage of Zhoushan's natural resources to develop art courses for local primary school students to help them learn more about marine culture. The team also filmed short videos to tell stories about how the beautiful countryside was conceived.
CAA will cooperate with Zhoushan authorities to build a provincial demonstration zone to leverage art in the pursuit of common prosperity in rural areas, according to authorities.
Authorities said they will roll out a series of preferential policies to attract more teachers and students from CAA to work in the village, hold art exhibitions, as well as organize events related to painting and graffiti.
