Zhoushan takes steps to find jobs for college graduates

Updated : 2022-07-26 (chinadaily.com.cn)

The government of Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province had implemented a series of measures in the first half of this year to help college graduates in the city secure jobs.

These measures included hosting small-scale job fairs every Friday, updating job vacancies every day and arranging for human resource professionals to offer guidance to graduates from Zhoushan-based universities and colleges.

Authorities had also set up groups that would release recruitment information and introduce favorable policies to graduates who are Zhoushan natives to encourage them to work or start business in their hometown. Over the past four years, more than 40 percent of graduates who left the city had decided to return.

Authorities have also worked together with 110 corporations to set up job fairs at 15 universities to recruit graduates. These fairs have resulted in 669 graduates signing employment agreements.

Various companies have also held online events to showcase their working environment via livestreaming platforms to job seekers.

As of the end of June, the city had welcomed 10,100 new college graduates, a year-on-year increase of 17.9 percent, official statistics show.
