Roger Olsen, a Norwegian man in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, has lived in Zhoushan for 17 years.

In 2005, Olsen asked his wife whether she wants go back to China, as the couple was considering living in Zhoushan for about two or three years before returning to Norway.

However, three years later, Olsen did not want to leave the city, and his wife's parent also moved from Norway to Zhoushan to help their son-in-law.

"People not familiar with us would assume my husband stays in Zhoushan because of me, but actually it's because of him that our family lives here now," said Olsen 's wife Yuan Jiaying.

Olsen loves the bustling atmosphere of Zhoushan, where he has made a lot of local friends, one of which he even opened a winery with.

The Norwegian is even more familiar with Zhoushan than his wife. In his spare time, he likes biking through the streets and trying various foods.

Olsen's business is also doing well in Zhoushan, with an annual operating revenue of nearly 100 million yuan ($14.88 million), and he plans to start more businesses in the city in the future.
