The oil product terminal on Waidiao Island in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, started officially operating on June 27 after months of trial operation.

The terminal is part of Waidiao Island's oil product project, which also includes a 550,000-cubic meter tank farm and a 13-kilometer oil pipeline.

The project is expected to receive, transport and store imported crude oil and also functions as an emergency docking terminal for large-scale vessels and transports and stores the oil products of vessels that get in accidents.

As the main crude oil supplier in Zhoushan, the oil product project on Waidiao Island will consolidate the supply system of crude oil at Zhoushan Port and contribute to the construction of a full oil and natural gas industrial chain in Zhejiang.
