Zhoushan Customs has released 16 measures this year to support the stable and high-quality development of foreign trade in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province.
Customs clearance will become more efficient at Zhoushan Port, with the overall customs clearance time for imported products being kept under 30 hours and that for exports and international ships under two hours. The time needed to identify iron ore will also be further reduced.
In addition, tax reduction list for foreign trade products of members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership trade pact will be created to expand the export of competitive products in Zhoushan.
Zhoushan Customs will also further lower the operating costs of local foreign trade companies, strengthen statistical analysis and data services, and support the construction of the Zhoushan National Deep-sea Fishing Industry Base.
In the first five months of the year, foreign trade in Zhoushan totaled 120.09 billion yuan ($17.98 billion), up 26.3 percent year-on-year.
Exports expanded 21.9 percent year-on-year to 41.02 billion yuan, while imports grew 28.8 percent year-on-year to 79.07 billion yuan.
