Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province launched a weeklong talent-exclusive event on June 23 to celebrate and serve talent in the city.

The weeklong event includes a launch ceremony, eight different activities, and a variety of other activities held by local districts and counties.

From June 23 to 29, 174 Zhoushan businesses will offer discounts to local talent and 40 tourist attractions will open to them free of charge. Online job fairs will also be held during this period to attract more talent to Zhoushan.

In addition, light shows, concerts, painting and calligraphy exhibitions, and group weddings will be organized for local talent over the next few days.

Statistics show that the number of talent in Zhoushan increased from 144,400 in 2017 to 260,400 in 2021, with an increase rate of 80.3 percent. Over the past five years, the city has introduced 314 high-caliber talent in the marine industry and 56,000 university graduates.

Zhoushan was ranked 36th on the 2022 list of the Chinese cities most attractive to talent.
