Construction of the first provincial-level future factory in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, recently commenced.
The factory of the future is designed for ecologically sustainable production, including the efficient use of energy and materials, via the utilization of advanced technologies. In the future factory, workers collaborate with intelligent machines.
Zhoushan-based Zhengshan Manufacturing Innovation Co Ltd, which is engaged in the research and development, production, and sale of fasteners, was recently listed as a pilot company for the development of a provincial-level future factory.
According to Lin Junhong, general manager of Zhengshan, the second phase of the company currently under construction is expected to make use of artificial intelligence, big data, and digital twin technologies to enable intelligent manufacturing.
Lin added that the workshop will be built in accordance with the standards of "lighthouses", or world-class advanced factories.
The 16,000-square meter establishment is designed as a two-layer three-dimensional workshop that includes a stereoscopic storehouse with a maximum storage capacity of 49 million metric tons.
The workshop will have two 150-meter integrated production lines capable of producing 10,000 thread bushings each per day, and the production lines will be connected to the stereoscopic storehouse, rail guided vehicles, automated guided vehicles, and other intelligent logistics equipment, said Lin.
Zhengshan this year has developed new products for the nuclear power and petrochemical industries and has seen new customers from the United States, Singapore, and Malaysia, noted Lin.
