Jintang, a town in Dinghai district, Zhoushan, has been promoting the digital transformation of its local screw manufacturers in recent years.

The town has already connected more than 300 pieces of screw manufacturing equipment of local companies online and allowed for the online monitoring of over 40 screw manufacturing procedures.

Jintang will continue increasing its support for local companies' digital transformation by encouraging them to bring in intelligent equipment and improve management.

For example, Zhejiang Huaye Plastics Machinery Co Ltd has introduced the Mazak digital control center to improve its production and management, achieving a more than 90 percent on-time delivery rate.

Su Feifan, a digital control operator at Huaye, said that in the past, more than 10 kinds of equipment were used to produce a barrel through dozens of procedures. Now, all these processes can be handled by the digital control center.

Huaye has invested more than 30 million yuan ($4.47 million) in scientific innovation and intelligent manufacturing annually in recent years.

The company also plans to apply intelligent manufacturing to 80 percent of its procedures and upload all information about workshop layout, management, and production online in the near future.

Jintang is now the largest manufacturing and export base of injection molding machine screws in China. The industry currently employs more than 12,000 workers in the town, according to the Jintang administration committee.
