Zhejiang provincial government departments recently rolled out a plan for the construction of a comprehensive pilot zone for cross-border e-commerce in Zhoushan.

The plan states that Zhoushan should focus on the marine economy to construct the pilot zone. The city should also focus on the transformation of traditional foreign trade companies and cultivate cross-border e-commerce talent and leading enterprises.

By 2025, Zhoushan is required to establish more than two industrial parks for cross-border e-commerce, build more than three cross-border e-commerce industrial clusters, and be home to over 300 cross-border e-commerce enterprises.

The annual increase rate of the city's cross-border e-commerce imports and exports is expected to exceed 30 percent by the same year.

Zhoushan is also required to establish a comprehensive operation center for cross-border e-commerce where professional cross-border e-commerce operation agencies will be brought in to help local enterprises expand into overseas markets.

In addition, paperless customs clearance will also be available for cross-border e-commerce enterprises in the city to improve efficiency and lower costs.
