All nine major islands in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, received more than 108,000 tourists during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, which ended on June 5.
Rural tourism and short-distance tours were popular among Zhoushan residents with the Dongshan Mountain and Zhushan Mountain sections of the Donghai Greenway, Luotang Road, Luxiaxu village being the most popular rural tourist attractions.

During the holiday, the Zhoushan bureau of culture, broadcasting, and tourism also organized a variety of activities, including zongzi-making, dragon boat races, and pitch-pot games, to create a strong festive atmosphere.
To further spur consumption, the bureau issued 500,000 yuan ($75,000) in coupons to local residents, and Putuo district and Zhoushan Archipelago New Area offered 2 million yuan in coupons each.
During the three-day holiday, 14 key businesses in the city experienced a 74.9 percent year-on-year increase in sales revenue to 21.4 million yuan.
