The First People's Hospital of Daishan County in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, will complete its relocation by the end of 2024, local media reported on May 9.

The old 35,000-square-meter First People's Hospital of Daishan County only has 300 beds and cannot satisfy the increasing medical needs of local residents.

With a total investment of 923 million yuan ($137.17 million), the 93,700-square-meter hospital will be built in accordance with the standards of the highest provincial-level comprehensive hospital and is designed to house 610 beds.

In addition to general functional establishments, the hospital will feature an underground parking lot and a parking apron for emergency rescue helicopters.

The new hospital will also be more intelligent than the old one and is expected to be a garden-style comprehensive hospital integrating medical care, education, research and disease prevention.
