Daishan, a county in Zhoushan, East China's Jiangsu province, recently published measures to attract more talent, local media reported on April 19.

Talent who have satisfied the county's technological requirements will receive corresponding awards from the local government and research institutes dedicated to basic or non-profit research will be allowed to independently determine the use of their project funds.

Talent who start working in Daishan will receive subsidies for childcare and elderly care for their and their spouse's parents and assistance with their children's compulsory education from the local government.

The county aims to become a renowned hub for talent in petrochemical new materials, port equipment manufacturing, and automobile and ship accessories in the Yangtze River Delta region by 2026.

That same year, Daishan is expected to bring in more than 20 innovation teams, 300 high-profile talent and 15,000 university graduates and cultivate 12,000 skilled talents and over 60 companies.

The county hopes to be home to over 1,000 researchers and 60,000 talents by 2026.
