Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province has been utilizing digital technologies to improve the management of local ports in recent years, local media reported on March 30.
Zhoushan port authorities have launched an online platform that offers 36 services, including bonded oil refueling, material supply, and ship management, greatly increasing the efficiency of local ports.
In 2021, the platform received 8,400 orders for bonded oil supply weighing a combined 550 metric tons, arranged $3 billion in supplies for international ships, and served more than 3,000 shipping and logistics companies.
In addition, Zhoushan Port received over 13,000 ships and 280,000 people last year, and customs clearance time for imports and exports has been reduced to less than 30 hours and two hours, respectively.
An employee at the Zhoushan shipping and port bureau said that the city will promote the sharing of public anchorage grounds and channels and the application of big data, internet of things, and other new technologies in port services.
