Zhoushan-based Zhejiang Jiaogong Equipment Engineering Co Ltd has undertaken the manufacturing of 3,655 metric tons of steel box girders that will be used in the construction of roads ahead of the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.

According to Huang Mingshi, deputy general manager of Jiaogong, all steel box girders will be manufactured before the end of June.

The Hangzhou downtown area section of the Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Highway is one of the roads being built for the Asian Games. The steel box girders made by Jiaogong for this road will be installed by the end of March.

In addition, Jiaogong has also participated in the construction of the first superhighway in China – the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Ningbo intelligent highway.

Jiaogong, which started operating in November last year, has an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons of steel structure and 4,000 tons of special equipment.

Huang said that Jiaogong has received orders from major construction projects in and outside of Zhejiang.

He noted that the company is expected to introduce automatic metal processing technology to seek transformation and expand production capacity this year.

The 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 will be held from Sept 10 to 25 in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang. Twenty-eight Olympic events and nine non-Olympic events will be held during the Games.
