Small-scale plants in Jintang town, Dinghai district, Zhoushan, have achieved common prosperity in recent years with the help of local large-scale screw manufacturers, local media reported on March 16.

In recent days, workers at the Kejiang Heat Management Plant have been busy with heat treatment for screws in an effort to deliver on orders, which were placed before the Spring Festival, in a timely manner.

"The amount of orders we received this year is about 25 percent higher than last year," said Yin Keting, head of the plant, who noted that business is getting increasingly better every year.

Kejiang, starting from a small plant offering supporting services to screw manufacturers, has grown into one of the top three companies in its field in Jintang with annual output value of 10 million yuan ($1.58 million).

According to Yin, with the rapid development of local screw manufacturers in recent years, screw supporting service suppliers have also seen increased development opportunities.

When screw manufacturers receive a large number of orders, they will ask companies like Kejiang for help. Kejiang has helped about 100 such companies, Yin added.

It has become common for larger companies to assist smaller companies in Jintang, which manufactures and exports the most molding machine screws among Chinese cities.

Last year, the town's screw industry generated 7.6 billion yuan in output, a year-on-year increase of 11 percent. The industry currently employs more than 12,000 workers, according to the Jintang administration committee.
