The Sinopec Zhejiang Zhoushan Petroleum Co Ltd in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province has been supporting local economic and social development over the past 10 years, local media reported.

The company has invested more than 600 million yuan ($94.72 million) in establishing petrol stations and natural gas stations as well as improving their environment in the city.

Zhoushan currently houses 83 petrol stations and natural gas stations that sell 500,000 metric tons of oil products and 15 million cubic meters of natural gas every year.

Sinopec has also been exploring the improvement of customer experiences. According to a staff member from Sinopec in Zhoushan, their customers can gain access to clean energy and services including shopping and recharging at a petrol station in the future.

Sinopec had also established services centers in Zhoushan where drivers and outdoor workers can rest, have a meal, take a shower, and wash clothes.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the Zhoushan company will accelerate transformation and upgrading to construct a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy supply system.

The company is constructing Zhoushan's first hydrogen refueling station in Liuheng town. That station, which will be put into operation in the first half of the year, will be capable of supplying 500 kilograms of hydrogen per day.
