Seventeen members of the 12th Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Committee (CPPCC) of Zhejiang Province submitted 23 suggestions to the fifth session of the 12th CPPCC of Zhejiang Province held on Jan 16 in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang.
Zhuang Weiyi made three suggestions this year regarding the assistance of cultural and tourism companies amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the provision of more financial support of elderly care infrastructure construction on islands, and more favorable policies for the shipping industry.

"There have been an increasing number of ships berthing at Zhoushan Port and more off-shore projects in Zhoushan in recent years and all these have brought new challenges to the safe parking of ships," said Cao, who proposed the establishment of a more efficient and scientific management system for ship berthing.
Zhoushan political advisors also made suggestions about Zhejiang's goal to become a demonstration zone for achieving common prosperity, saying the province should roll out more favorable policies for island counties and strengthen overall planning of villages.
The advisors also suggested providing more support to clean energy development and the East China Sea Laboratory as well as optimizing the approval procedure of the port shoreline this year.
