The maritime service industry in the Zhoushan area of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone generated 34.3 billion yuan ($5.38 billion) in output in the first 11 months of the year, local media reported.

In the Jan-Nov period, the Zhoushan area offered nearly 4.97 million metric tons of bonded bunker oil.

The Zhoushan area has ramped up efforts to attract logistics, ship supply, voyage repair, and crew service companies to operate in local maritime service industrial parks this year.

It has also expanded the business of ship bidding platform Paichuanwang to ship trading, auction, assessment, as well as domestic and international brokerage.

In the first 10 months of the year, the trading volume of ships on Paichuanwang totaled 5.512 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.5 percent.

The Zhoushan area has also established four more bunker oil refilling anchorage berths in Shulanghu anchorage ground and launched the first anchorage oil supply meteorological index, which is expected to increase the working days of the Mazhi and Xiushandong anchorage grounds by an additional 200 days.
