The Zhejiang Zhoushan Talent Entrepreneur Park in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province was put into service on Dec 3.

The entrepreneur park, which represents a combined investment of 200 million yuan ($31.41 million), is divided into four major areas for pilot research and development of marine biological industry, sci-tech service, and exhibition.

"The park will help lower the costs for innovation and starting up businesses and accelerate the commercialization of research findings," said a staff member from Zhoushan science and technology bureau.

The marine biological industry pilot research and development base in the park covers an area of 5,400 square meters and has a 1,000-sq m raw material and solid preparation production workshop and a 2,000-sq m laboratory for R&D and testing.

Supported by comprehensive facilities, the base is capable of providing companies, universities and research institutes with services such as pilot plant testing, new product development, equipment sharing, and technical talent training.

To date, the base has attracted more than 10 startups and R&D institutions.
